Affiliate disclosure

How StrideRec is paid, and whether that changes what we recommend. Required by the FTC, and worth reading anyway.

Last updated 8 August 2026

The short version

Some links to retailers are, or will become, affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer may pay us a commission. It does not change the price you pay.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. StrideRec joined the Amazon.com Associates Programme on 9 August 2026 as Associate ID striderec-20. Links to Amazon are affiliate links, and a qualifying purchase made through one pays us a commission.

Links to every other retailer currently earn us nothing. We hold a Sovrn Commerce publisher account and some links are built through it, but Sovrn reviewed striderec.com on 8 August 2026 and did not approve the site, and no other retailer programme has approved us. Networks pay only for clicks to merchants you are approved for, so outside Amazon every link here is an ordinary link to a retailer.

Our other revenue is the $3 per month Pro subscription.

Whether commission influences recommendations

It does not, and the mechanism matters more than the promise. Recommendations are produced by matching gear to your training data — mileage, pace, surface, and the wear on your current shoes. Commission rate is not one of the inputs, and no retailer pays for placement or for a higher ranking.

Where we can tell you not to buy something, we do. The value calculator on /subscription can conclude that Pro is not worth it for you and say so. A page that only ever recommends buying is advertising.

There is a real tension here and we would rather name it: the more you buy, the more we could eventually earn. If you ever see a recommendation that looks like it was made for our benefit rather than yours, tell us at sanchezjacob4203@outlook.com.

Cashback

Where cashback is offered, it shares part of any commission back with you as store credit inside StrideRec. It is not cash and it depends on a retailer confirming the sale, which typically takes 30 to 60 days because of return windows.

Since no affiliate programme is approved yet, no cashback can currently be earned. Figures shown in the calculator on /pro are projections of what a partnership would return, not a promise. The terms set this out in full.

Which retailers

Our catalogue links to retailers including Amazon, Running Warehouse, REI, iHerb, and brand sites such as Brooks, HOKA, Nike, Saucony, Nutricost, and Tailwind.

Amazon links are affiliate links and can pay us a commission. Separately, links exist through Sovrn Commerce for Noxgear, KT Tape, Goodr, On, Nike, New Balance and Waterboy — none of those pay us anything, because Sovrn has not approved this site, so they behave as ordinary redirects to the retailer. Every other retailer in the catalogue is awaiting approval or not yet applied for. As that changes, this page and the date above change with it.

Prices

An affiliate link never costs you more. Commission is paid by the retailer out of its own margin. If you would rather not use our links at all, search for the product directly — the recommendation is the same either way.

Legal basis

This disclosure exists to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, 16 CFR Part 255, which require material connections between an endorser and a seller to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously.
