Terms

The agreement for using StrideRec. Short, and specific about the things that could cost you money or mislead you.

What StrideRec is

StrideRec recommends running shoes and supplements, using your training data from Strava when you connect it. The product is for runners in the United States. Club invite codes are optional partner attribution, not a geo-fence.

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use it.

Recommendations are opinions, not guarantees

Our recommendations are informational. Shoes that suit your mileage and pace on paper may still not suit your feet, and we cannot diagnose or prevent injury.

Nothing on StrideRec is medical advice. The catalogue includes supplements with typical doses, drawn from public research summaries. It is not personalised medical guidance, has not been evaluated by the FDA, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before starting any supplement, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or managing a health condition. Iron in particular should not be supplemented without a blood test.

Prices and availability

Prices shown come from retailers and go out of date. The price at checkout is the real one. We check our links periodically and fix the ones we find broken, but we do not control retailer inventory, pricing, shipping, or returns — your purchase is with the retailer, not with us.

Price-drop alerts are best effort. We may miss a drop, and a drop may end before you act on it.

Pro subscriptions

Pro markets $1/week and bills $39.99/year by default, or $4/month if you choose monthly. Stripe charges those amounts. Pro includes rotation alerts based on your mileage, unlimited gear questions, and early access. Price-drop alerts and cashback are not in the paid list until they actually ship.

Cancel any time from the billing portal. Cancellation stops future charges and Pro continues until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not prorate partial months. If Pro has not been worth it to you, email us and we will refund your most recent month — we would rather do that than keep money from someone who is not getting value.

If we change the price, existing subscribers are told before it applies and can cancel first.

Cashback, and what it is not

Cashback, where offered, is store credit within StrideRec. It is not cash, not a rebate, and not redeemable for money. It can be applied to your subscription.

It depends entirely on a retailer confirming a sale to us and paying a commission. That typically takes 30 to 60 days because of return windows. If a purchase is returned or a retailer reverses a commission, the corresponding credit is reversed.

No cashback has been earned yet. StrideRec is an Amazon Associate, so a qualifying Amazon purchase can now generate commission — but none has been confirmed, and Amazon is the only retailer paying us anything, so there is currently nothing to share back. Some views of the site, including the value calculator on /pro, include cashback in an illustrative total. Those are projections of what a partnership would return, not a promise of what you will receive.

A further limit worth knowing: affiliate commission is credited to the last tracking link clicked before checkout. If you use a browser extension such as Capital One Shopping, Honey, or Rakuten, it will typically replace our link at checkout and no cashback will be earned on that purchase. There is nothing we can do about that from our side.

Your account

Keep your invite code and your sign-in to yourself. Do not scrape the site, resell our data, attempt to break the invite gate, or use the service to break the law. We may suspend an account that does, and we will say why.

Availability

StrideRec is a new service run by a very small team. It will sometimes be down. We do not promise uptime. If a paid feature is unavailable long enough to matter, tell us and we will make it right.

Our content, and other people's

The site, its text, and its recommendations are ours. Product names, brands, and logos belong to their owners and appear for identification only. Strava is a trademark of Strava, Inc., which does not endorse StrideRec.

Liability

StrideRec is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. If we change them, the date at the top changes, and for a material change affecting paid subscribers we will email you before it takes effect.
